With its debut in October 2016, David Friend Hall represents an exciting new addition to the Museum’s permanent galleries. The 2,300-square-foot, state-of-the-art gem and mineral gallery features more than 150 premier specimens from the Museum’s collection and also significant private collections from across the United States.
24 Dynamic displays integrate free-standing, large-scale minerals with small-scale specimens, and customized lighting and cabinetry showcases each specimen’s beauty.
David Friend Hall is named for the philanthropist and Yale alumnus who provided support for the gallery.
