The Kloster Michaelstein, a former Cistercian abbey in Blankenburg (Harz), is now flourishing as a versatile venue for cultural activities.
From the first beginning, music has filled the venerable monastery rooms; once it was the singing of the Cistercian monks, while today the guests of the music academy and the museum fill the space with their voices and musical instruments.
However, the sounds and musical instruments have changed with the times. The music exhibition traces these changes in KLANG-ZEIT-RAUM using instruments from four centuries in Europe.
In order to optimise the presentation of the exhibition, REIER was commissioned to replace old display cases with new ones, while retaining the existing fixtures for the presentation of the musical instruments.
REIER was able to fulfil this requirement by proposing innovative solutions.
After intensive coordination, 12 freestanding display cases of type H12 and a table display case of type T34 with electro-hydraulic lifting bonnet and integrated drawer as well as passive partial climate control were delivered and installed. Today, the exhibition shines in a new light.
