In October 2024, the award-winning new building of the Museum of Ethnography was officially opened for museum use in Budapest’s Városliget City Park.
On nearly 7,000 square meters of exhibition space, ethnographic objects, including photographs, films, manuscripts, and folk music recordings, are made accessible to visitors in a lively and highly engaging presentation. In addition to irreplaceable relics of Hungarian folk culture, the museum houses the largest collection of ethnographic objects from distant continents in the region. These objects, ranging from the 17th century to the present, illustrate daily life and human relationships.
For the new Museum of Ethnography, REIER produced and installed a total of 203 display cases, including freestanding display cases, wall display cases, and table display cases.
The display cases are partly designed in round and oval shapes, offering various opening options depending on the type.
