The museum at Admont Monastery was opened in 2003. It has since established itself as an important player in the Austrian museum landscape. It extends over three floors and two wings. Its special feature is, on the one hand, the exciting combination of old and new on an architectural and content level, and on the other hand, the diversity of the offerings. An art history museum, a natural history museum, a museum of contemporary art and, since 2017, a gothic museum in the newly designed columned hall are united under one roof.
Under the title “Dem Himmel nahe – Kunst des Mittelalters (Close to the Sky – Art of the Middles Ages)”, the Gothic Museum is showing 85 important medieval sculptures, panel paintings and stained glass from the Kuno Mayer Collection.
For this permanent exhibition, REIER supplied in 2017 and 2019 a total of 45 freestanding and niche-mounted freestanding display cases with climate control and LED lighting, as well as two table display cases with hydraulic lifting system and LED light tube.
